![]() Runners this year can celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Marathon in style with Mickey and friends! Delight in an extraordinary race weekend-put your endurance through the paces, enjoy amazing entertainment and earn commemorative medals. It’s also home to the Goofy Challenge and the Dopey Challenge where guests can put their endurance to the test and take part in multiple RunDisney events over the entire weekend. Not only that, but The Magic Kingdom is typically still decorated for Christmas with Cinderellas Castle lit up in lights. For starters these are the only RunDisney events with courses which go through The Magic Kingdom. Although we generally have more fun at the Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend due to the amazing after party experience there are certain things we love about the marathon weekend at Disney. ![]() Then, each plans offers a weekly training that leads up to the race weekend. The plans begin with a series of suggestions regarding everything from pacing during training to race day preperations. This year, Galloway offers a plan for marathoners training not only for the marathon on its own but also for those training for the January run following a fall race, specifically the Wine & Dine Half Marathon. ![]() More experienced runners can find a number of different training plans based on race distance, schedule, and even their fall race plans. ![]() With just 16 weeks left to go before race weekend, many of the plans will push runners to do a little catching up. Runners new to the sport, which Galloway defines as those with less than six months of runing experience, will want to start with the “beginner” plan for their distance(s). ![]()
